Steven Young II, a senior at Tyler Legacy High School, has been named the Kilgore Legacy Foundation’s 2025 Juneteenth King.
Young serves as a member of theater, Newspaper Club and the National Technical Honor Society. He is a young actor, writer and creator with a passion for storytelling. His future goals are to continue his career in acting and staying consistent in the arts. In his free time he enjoys writing, reading, photography and listening to music.
Young was crowned and read his winning essay last weekend at the Black Tie Gala. He will also be acknowledged this summer at the Kilgore Juneteenth parade and fun day in the park.
