There are many events to celebrate Juneteenth in the Brazos Valley, and the Brazos Valley African American Historical Society hosted events all through the week of Juneteenth!
The organization is rounding out their celebrations with free, family-friendly events on Saturday.
The day starts with a parade at 9 a.m. for the community to enjoy.
The parade route begins at Kemp-Carver Elementary School and will end at Sadie Thomas Memorial Park, where a children’s event full of games, a bounce house, face painting and more will take place.
The evening will end with a Blues Fest at the Palace Theater in Downtown Bryan from 6-10 p.m., featuring The Pizzaz Band from Houston.
