
WASHINGTON (7News) — In observance of Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19, Metrorail will operate on a modified schedule, running on Saturday service levels, officials said. The system will open at 5:00 a.m. and close at midnight.

Metrobus will also run on Saturday as a supplement instead of the Metrorail, officials said.
Metrorail Service for Wednesday, June 19, according to Metro officials:
- Hours: 5:00 a.m. to midnight
- Red Line (Shady Grove–Silver Spring): Every 8 minutes until 9:30 p.m., then every 10 minutes until close
- Red Line (Silver Spring–Glenmont): Every 16 minutes until 9:30 p.m., then every 20 minutes until close
- Green Line/Yellow Line: Every 8 minutes
- Blue Line/Orange Line: Every 15 minutes
- Silver Line (Ashburn–McLean): Every 8 minutes until 9:30 p.m., then every 10 minutes until close
- Silver Line (Ballston–Largo): Every 15 minutes
- Fares: $2.25–$2.50 for late-night trips after 9:30 p.m.
Parking will be free at all Metro-owned garages and lots on the holiday.
