JACKSON, Tenn.—The Hub City is celebrating this Juneteenth weekend and one of the main goals is to promote unity.
Jackson Juneteenth was full of music, vendors, and lots of dancing.
They aim to inform the community of history that is significant to the end of the civil rights movement.
It’s not just about what you can do alone but more as a community.
“It’s been on and popping throughout the day. We have wonderful vendors that are here selling their clothes. We have information, education and it’s all about celebration. So, we have had candidates who ever was running for office. They were welcome to come up speak and say a few words,” said Wendy Martin, President of SACCA.
It was a great day to be involved with the community.
