A weekend of Juneteenth events in Santa Fe, all free and open to the public, will celebrate music, art, stories and all aspects of African American culture.
The celebrations kick off Friday evening with a reception and film screening of Blacks in Santa Fe: Seen and Unseen, a documentary theater project hosted by the Women of the Diaspora writing group.
The group transformed interviews with Black residents of Santa Fe into a script for performance to “uncover stories of Black visibility and invisibility” in the city, according to a flyer.
