MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – With it being Father’s Day weekend, let’s find you something to do to celebrate the dad in your life. It’s time for the Rundown.
You can spend your Saturday celebrating in downtown Montgomery. The Rosa Parks Museum’s 9th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will start at 11 o’clock. There will be live music, vendors with merchandise to purchase, and various food options. A kids’ area will also feature games, craft activities, a bouncy house, and more. The Juneteenth Celebration will last until 5 p.m. This event is FREE to attend. There are several more Juneteenth festivals and celebrations in our area, including Union Springs and Auburn.
This is Father’s Day weekend, so how about taking the whole family to The Sunflower Field on Saturday? It’s the perfect place to take pictures and enjoy a wagon ride or two. There will also be several vendors at The Sunflower Field.
What about taking dad to your local farmers market? You can shop for a variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables, along with homemade baked goods, homemade jellies, boiled peanuts, plants, and so much more.
Another one of our favorite places here on The Rundown is The Montgomery Zoo, and since Sunday is Father’s Day, you can bring him along. Come out between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for those absolutely adorable animals and a great time. Admission for dads is how much you ask? Well, it’s FREE!
You can also take dad to see Zelda in the Backyard at ASF, the Alabama Safari Park, the Montgomery International Dragway to catch a race, or maybe out on the water for a cruise.
